Mysteries of Lake Nicaragua

Mysteries of Lake Nicaragua

(Let me quickly apologize for the long hiatus between posts.  My health has been under siege and still is.  These posts take research and concentration that I sometimes can’t muster.  Prayers are always welcome.)

There has not been a lot of modern research done in Nicaragua on the evidence of ancient cultures there.  The political, social and economic situation in that country precludes any large or long term, serious research.  In addition, the tropical climate and dense vegetation is daunting and difficult to explore in the best of circumstances.  Far easier and more productive to study the rich pre-Columbian ruins in places like nearby Honduras or Guatemala.  This explains the lack of quality photos regarding our current subject.

However, if you look at the map of Nicaragua, you can see in the southwest quadrant a large lake or freshwater sea.  The easily noted and well-known facts about Lake Nicaragua (also called Colcibolca or Granada) are more than intriguing.  At 3,191 square miles in size, Lake Nicaragua is an impressive freshwater lake.  Apparently, it was once connected to the ocean, perhaps even forming a small bay.  This is evidenced by the fact that the lake hosts species of tarpon, sawfish and shark – all normally considered saltwater fish.

Nevertheless, there are some archaeological facts that interest us in our discussions.  From the surface of the lake are jut small islands of various sizes.  There are 365 of these islands in all.  (That there is one island for each day of the year is significant, I’m sure, but I couldn’t say how.)

Many of the islands are currently owned and inhabited.  Inhabited and uninhabited islands are covered with large blocks of basalt, that are not native to the islands - i.e., they were quarried and imported from some distance away.  These blocks, if they were ever used to construct any sort of structure, are all tumbled and scattered now, but they are large and obviously have been cut out and brought to the tops of these islands at some far distant time.

Along with these stone piles of blocks (and in various other places surrounding the lake) various pre-Columbian statues were discovered.  More probably exist within the lake, but no one wants to find out badly enough to fight sharks.  Some twenty odd were unceremoniously and randomly (precluding any scientific study or analysis of the statues in situ) gathered up and relocated in a local convent and are currently in an open-air museum at that location.

These statues are all uniformly made of basalt.  As you can see from the photos, they all show a distinctive style that does not seem to resemble any other known cultures’ statues.  No one has any idea what people or civilization once inhabited these islands or constructed these statues.

What is also visible from even these poor photos, is the fact that all these carvings are badly eroded.  It is difficult to even see the overall outline of the different statues, although in many cases, you can discern human figures, humanoid figures with animal features and humans with animal masks.  Details are non-existent in most.

Conversely, look at these photos of Egyptian statues that are made of the less durable granite and are 3,000 years old, or older.  Note that they look almost new and compare them to the more durable Nicaraguan basalt statues.

This is a striking feature, in and of itself.  It is evidence of extreme antiquity.  As we said, all these statues are made of basalt, which is harder than granite.  Its crystalline structure is much finer than granite, which gives it the hardness and makes a better carving – if you can carve it!

According to the current lords of truth in academia, the pre-Columbian peoples of Central America had no metal and the sharpest, hardest cutting tool that they had was obsidian, which is glass.  Glass that is volcanic in nature, surely, but glass, nonetheless.

Glass wouldn’t even scratch granite, much less the harder basalt.  So, how did they cut and carve these rocks into complex statues?

WARNING!!

The truth is there.  You just must see it.

This blog has been written with the sole purpose of using the ample evidence available to verify and support the biblical record, while refuting the copious propaganda that is shoved down our throats daily by materialistic uniformitarians.

It is my contention that the Bible describes God's original creation of people with extraordinary capabilities who subsequently created an advanced civilization that exceeds our own.  It was destroyed in the Great Flood and we have spent the last 4,500 years trying to preserve or re-build that civilization.  I contend that science supports all this in multiple disciplines, but this information is ignored, discredited or suppressed by people who have an opposing agenda.

I’m sorry that this doesn’t support the propaganda narrative of the current crop of materialistic academic dictators.  I have neither the time nor the inclination to refute them.  There are too many verifiable facts to be examined and drilled down on to waste time on silly fantasies that lack even face validity.

Nothing that you see on this blog is original.  Any fact that you see here is obtainable on a dozen different websites and books.  I use these facts and photos, without violating their copyrights, under the legal principle of fair use practice.  That is, I use them one time, for educational purposes only.

The point is, nothing here is made up.  The only thing that I do (or need to do) is assemble this information in its readily discernible pattern.

You might want to read through the first entry posted on this blog (Past Remembering: Thoughts toward a coherent view of our ancient past, our present and our future) to understand my theoretical and theological underpinnings more clearly.

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 (NASB)
That which has been is that which will be,
And that which has been done is that which will be done.
So, there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one might say,
“See this, it is new”?
Already it has existed for ages
Which were before us.
