Nan Madol

     In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, about 2,500 miles southwest of Hawaii, and 1,300 miles northeast of New Guinea, within the Federated States of Micronesia, lies the island of Pohnpei (or Pohnape.  Yeah, it sounds like Pompey, the Roman city buried under the volcanic ash.  Weird, huh?)

      The current population numbers around 35,000 and consists mostly of farmers and fisherman.

     On the southeast corner of the island is the abandoned city of Nan Madol (or Nanmitol).   Lying within the protective coral reef of the island and covering around 200 acres, the site consists of 92 man-made islands within a rectangular perimeter, separated by deep channels or canals.

         Called the "Venice of the Pacific," the materialists say that this was the home of the Saudeleur dynasty, rulers of the island from 500 to 1628 A. D.  Among the structures are houses,

tombs and various other chambers, all constructed of columnar basalt, a volcanic rock that cools into six or eight sided crystals, also well known in such formations as Ireland's Giant's Causeway

       The outcrops where the basalt was mined on Pohnpei are located sixteen miles away on the other side of the island.  Each "log" weighs between five and fifty tons.  (Remember, a ton is about the weight of a medium sized car.) These logs were cut and stacked into walls that were twenty-five feet tall and seventeen feet thick.  
 

 

    Basalt is pretty hard (6 on the Moh scale.  Granite is 8 and diamond is 10.).  Each of the "logs" has been cut to an exacting length.  Modern technology would use diamond edged saws to cut such lengths, but the islanders had no diamonds.   What did they use to cut the thousands and thousands of columns, smoothly, evenly and to the exact length needed?

 

     The materialists contend that the island inhabitants constructed this city using massive man-power, rafts, ropes and rollers.  They can't prove this, because numerous attempts to reproduce such efforts have failed.  Nevertheless, like similar theories about the building of the Great Pyramids or Stonehenge which also cannot be re-created, the theories are still touted as truth, because, after all, there is no other explanation allowable in these scientists' mythology.

 

 
     Physics, math and engineering don't support the materialists....as usual.  The still-existing structures have been calculated to measure 750,000 metric tons.  If the total population of 35,000 were used 24/7/365 (which would preclude any other activities like getting food, shelter and raising children), they might have been able to move 2,000 tons in a year (an optimistic assessment).  At such a rate, it would have required three centuries to complete Nan Madol.

      In addition, despite the insistence of the materialistic archaeologists that it was the current native population that built these structures, the people themselves are adamant that they did not build this city.  They contend that Nan Madol was in existence when they came to the island of Pohnpei.  

 
 
    The islanders also will not approach the ancient city.  They say that anyone who disturbs Nan Madol or trespasses on it will die.  In April, 1907, a man named Victor Berg, the German governor of the island at the time, disdained such foolish superstition.  Confident in his Western European Industrial Age belief that there was nothing about Nan Madol that he did not understand, he explored the ruins, opened some of the tombs and even spent the night there.

 

 
      The next morning, he died.  The death certificate cited sunstroke and heat exhaustion as the cause of death.   That's odd, considering subsequent explorers have reported becoming violently ill after spending time in the area.  Clearly something toxic is located at that site.   

 
    In addition, divers in the area say that the ruins continue out into the ocean, to depths farther than the divers can reach.  The local fishermen contend that there is another city there, like Nan Madol and called "Kanemwesa," which they have seen at very low tides lying in that deeper water.

      It's also worth noting that the islanders' traditional stories tell that their people came from a large continent to the west that was peopled by a civilization with advanced technology.  We'll look at that more later.

       To sum up, once again we have found clear indications of a technologically advanced civilization, capable of astounding feats of construction, who existed before living or recorded memory, long ago.  Many of these peoples' edifices were clearly built on what was then dry ground, but is now hundreds of feet, maybe thousands of feet, underwater. 

     The Flood happened dear reader.  Let the hunt for the truth continue.

The Stone Spheres

     I've thought that I would really enjoy traveling to Costa Rica sometime.  Located in Central America, between Nicaragua and Panama, it is tropical, politically and socially stable, with a good economy and a healthy tourist trade.  It has most of the things that attract people to a Latin American country and none of the problems usually associated with such.

 

     It also has something relevant to our discussions - the stone spheres of Costa Rica, locally known as "Las Bolas."

     First discovered by Westerners in the 1930's by the United Fruit Company, while they were clearing jungle for banana plantations, there are some 390 spheres scattered all over the Diquis River delta, as far away as Panama, but particularly around Palmar Sur and Canos Island.  They range in size from eight feet in diameter and sixteen tons, down to the size of a basketball and everything in between.  Remember in the first Indiana Jones movie, where the giant stone ball was rolling down on him?  Like that.

     They are most often composed of certain varieties of basalt, but there are examples made of sandstone or limestone.  People who have examined them say that the original finish seems highly polished.

     The interesting thing (other than their very existence and the question of their purpose), is the fact that they are geometrically within 95% of being a perfect sphere.  I would guess that the 5% variation comes from the fact that these balls were subject to erosion for perhaps thousands of years and were moved by water, surely colliding with other objects and causing them damage.

     I don't know if you've ever tried to make a perfect sphere.  Perhaps when you were a kid, you tried to roll some clay between your hands to form a ball.  If you have, you know that making a perfect sphere is very difficult, even with such a malleable substance as clay.
     In the environment of the earth's surface, a perfect sphere is only formed by gases and liquids.  Think of soap bubbles in the air or air bubbles in the water.  Even the planet earth itself is not a perfectly round sphere.  The effects of the earth's spin cause it to be slightly bigger in diameter in the equator than it is from pole to pole.  Think of a ball that has been slightly squashed.
     These stone balls are made of very hard materials.  The idea that you could bash these stones with other rocks until you made it round, then smoothing the surface by rubbing it with sand is ludicrous.

     An interesting sidelight, although not relevant to our discussion, is the story that the native peoples of this area tell about the stone balls.  They say that the spheres are the cannon balls used by their thunder god to drive off the gods of wind and hurricanes.

     While the native peoples didn't know anything about cannons until the coming of the Spanish in the 1500's, it is interesting to note that historians had located some stone cannonballs used on the ships of Henry the Eighth.  Having recreated a cannon fashioned after cannons from the period that had been found on shipwrecks, they tried out some of the stone cannonballs.      
     They found that, not only did the stone cannonballs strike their targets with tremendous force, but the stone then shattered, flinging fragments everywhere, much like a modern day shrapnel grenade and with equally devastating consequences.  The first anti-personnel cannon ball!
     Just for argument's sake, if the stone balls were indeed cannonballs, they would far exceed anything we could do.  The largest cannon on record, the Nazi's Gustav gun, could only fire a round three feet in diameter weighing 16,540 lb.  The largest of the Costa Rican Las Bolas is eight to ten feet in diameter and weighs between 50,000 and 62,000 lbs. That's 31 tons.
     If they were fired from some Brobdingnagian cannon,  they would no longer be a true sphere, or even close, from the damage incurred upon impact.  No stones with such damage have been found.  Even if they are in pieces, the reassembled pieces form true spheres.
     The other theory is that they were formed in space.  Since a liquified stone released into a zero gravity environment would form a perfect sphere (we talked about that in the blog entry about the Klerksdorp Spheres), perhaps they were formed in space and fell out of orbit?
      That scenario would produce an effect like a meteor and the atmospheric friction would cause significant burn marks on the spheres.  Such marks have not been found.

     Enough of that.    
     Let's go half way around the world to a fishing village in New Zealand called Moeraki in the Maori tongue.  In that region, mainly on the beach, are similar perfectly spherical boulders that are composed of various materials and are hardened by calcite mixed in with the material.  The strange thing is that the centers of the spheres are either soft mudstone or hollow altogether.  As you move to the outer shell, it becomes harder and harder.

     The materialists, of course, try desperately to show how this could come about naturally through the action of water on ancient mud, forming balls that harden and are then were polished by further water erosion.  Hmmm.

     Let us then go up to Europe, in the country of Bosnia-Herzegovina, in the area around the small villages of Trn, Zavidovici, Banja Luca and Teocak.

     Here, again in stream beds and water cut ravines, are stone spheres.  These are somewhat different.  They are made of granites and diorites - very hard material, very difficult to work.  Some of them have holes drilled in them.

     The most interesting part is that they are heavier than they should be.  A chemist performed an analysis of the stone composing the balls and the native stone still in the ground in the area.  His analysis concluded that the stone material had been melted, additional chemicals added to them and then most probably poured into a mold that formed it into the spherical shape.  
     We've discussed this before.  Granite doesn't melt until it reaches about 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit.  That's blast furnace temperature!  Our current Western civilization didn't develop that kind of industrial technology until the late 1800's. 
      Iron cauldrons heated by wood fires would certainly never do it!  Yet that is what evolutionary historians would have us believe was the height of technology in the earliest periods of man's history!

     So, let's look at the salient facts for our discussion:

1.  Artifacts (the spheres) exist that could have been produced by nothing other than advanced technology and heavy industry.  Although there are many of them and probably many more yet to be found (which means that they were very important to the people that made them), their purpose cannot be discerned.

2.  Said artifacts are spread throughout the world.

3.  The fact that they are found in stream beds, rivers and beaches indicates that they are deeply buried and are being washed out of deep strata.  A heavy, dense stone ball would necessarily sink to the bottom of whatever strata it might be in - if not in the beginning, then over time.

     I really hope that you're starting to see a pattern here.  It looks to me like more evidence of the Pre-flood people.  The Biblical record makes far more sense here than all the airy-fairy tales that the materialistic, evolutionary scientists try to propagandize - as usual.

Who lost the Ice Age?

The story of Noah and the Great Flood and the Ark - most of us have heard that story in various versions since we were very young.  I won’t copy it here for you to read.  If you need a refresher on the story, I’ll refer you to the Book of Genesis, beginning with Chapter 7, verse 1 and ending with chapter 8, verse 19. 

The question at hand, of course, is this: “Is this story true?”

“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:”

Jesus seemed to think it was true.

1 Peter 3:20 (NASB)

“….who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.”

The Apostle Peter seemed to think it was true.  In fact, he put an even stronger stamp on the story when he said..

^{2PE 1:20-21} “But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

Neither Jesus nor Peter seemed to think that the story of Noah and the Great Flood was an allegory, or a metaphor, or a myth.  They both spoke as if it were true history.

Most people know what you mean when you mention the words “ice age.”  The materialistic educators, aided by popular media culture using things like the “Ice Age” cartoons, have done a good job of making sure of that.

The “ice age” or “ice ages” refers to the idea put forth in the 1830’s that one or more periods of time existed in the distant past (the materialists say that the last one happened about 10,000 years ago. 

The dictionary defines an "ice age" or, more precisely, "glacial age" is a generic geological period of long-term reduction in the temperature of the Earth's surface and atmosphere, resulting in the presence or expansion of continental ice sheets, polar ice sheets and alpine glaciers.

That means it got cold for a long period of time and that made ice form all over the world.

So, where is the Ice Age or Ice Ages in this story?  Have any of you found anything anywhere in the Bible that might indicate when that there was an Ice Age?  No?

Then where could the idea of an Ice Age have possibly come from?

This idea was put forth in the 1830’s.  I won’t waste time recounting for you this historical information.  It has already been well treated by a man named Peter Bros.  Mr. Bros presents a well thought out and clear presentation of the process by which the myth of the Ice Age was produced.  I cannot match Mr. Bros' eloquence or thoroughness, so I will only offer excerpts here and heartily recommend that you read his entire treatise yourself for a better treatment.

The Case for the Flood: Exposing the Scientific Myth of the Ice Age

“The geological, linguistic and geographical evidence associated with the worldwide megalithic monuments demonstrates the actual existence of a prototype civilization dispersed around the globe.

“…the scientific establishment unknowingly cast its lot against a world-wide prehistoric civilization before real evidence began showing up.  It did so by enforcing the eighteenth century rule of reason which stipulated that God could not be used as an explanation for physical reality, thereby rejecting out of hand the possible validity of all biblical accounts and, in the case of a worldwide prehistoric society, the possibility that a flood of biblical proportions destroyed all but the megalithic evidence for that civilization.

“Making the world of science safe against Bible-thumpers became the overriding goal of nineteenth-century science.  Evidence of a world-wide flood began to accumulate almost immediately.  Western science was, at this time, unaware that accounts of a universal flood appear around the globe, the universal flood being a part of the myths and traditions of more than a thousand (my emphasis – R.M.F.) cultures, separated both by time and distance.

“As explorers started to bring home descriptions of the world from afar, science (materialistic scientists, that is – R. M. F. again) was horrified to see a picture emerging of a planet scarred by massive movements of water, generally from the northwest to the southeast, over its surface.  The northwestern sides of whole mountains were scored as if they had been subjected to fast-moving waters containing gravel and boulders.  Floodwater was unmistakably the source of the scoring because science could see the same effect from fast-moving rivers.  Furthermore, those same sides of the mountains were also home to massive buildups of drift materials (The Russians have found technological bits mixed in.  See the blog entry “Bits and pieces.”  By the way, the easiest way to navigate this blog site is just to do a search for my name and the title or category that you are looking for.), detritus presumably left behind by receding waters.  Again, this was an effect that mimicked observable natural actions in the real world.  These drift deposits even contained the remains of animals, including the woolly mammoth.

More horrifying to the nineteenth-century materialists than the evidence of water damage and silting were the gigantic boulders exposed to public view all over the European countryside in places where they clearly didn’t belong (too large and wide-spread to snatch up and hide away in some museum store room).  These oversized rocks, many weighing thousands of tons, could have been moved only by massive floodwaters carrying them along and then depositing them when the waters receded.  The movement by these rocks by the floodwaters would have been, in part, responsible for the aforementioned mountainside scouring. 

What to do with these discoveries that constituted irrefutable evidence of a worldwide flood?  If science had been true to the evidence and concluded that the evidence had, in fact, resulted from a worldwide flood, religious crazies would have filled the pulpits and the newspapers with cries that the biblical story of the flood, and thus the entire Bible, had been scientifically confirmed: not a desirable result - for them.

The task that faced science when confronted with the incontrovertible evidence of a worldwide flood was to create a scientific fact that would provide a substitute for the already existing evidence left behind by the actual flood.  In the early 1820’s, a Swiss engineer, Ignaz Venetz, focused on the remains of woolly mammoths found in the drifts, pointing out that as the same animals were being found in the frozen Siberian wastes, the area in which the drifts were found must have at one time been covered with ice.  The glacier theory did not explain why the scoring, labeled “striations” that supported glacier theory, appeared only on one side of the mountains or why the drifts, called moraines to tie them to glacier theory, contained the remains of animals that were found only in equatorial regions, insects that were found only in the southern hemisphere, and birds that were native to Asia. The glacier theory did not explain why the giant boulders, named erratics to accommodate glacier theory, were found in desert regions where no glacier could possibly go.

But these discrepancies were small potatoes compared the scientific reality of glaciers themselves.  Glacier theory simply ignored the basic facts of glacier movement.  Glaciers are flows of ice that, like rivers, respond to gravity.  Glaciers do not climb hills and they do not travel across level land. 

Even though glaciers could not have carried the erratics the thousands of miles required to reach (and cover) the European countryside, the fact that the North Pole was north, which was “up there” on the globe, was more than ample scientific proof that gravity could cause the glaciers to inch “down” over the sides of the globe.

No one proposed that ice fields covered the southern half of the planet because that would require the glaciers to defy gravity and travel “up” the sides of the globe from the South Pole.

The only problem that science encountered was to explain how the earth could undergo vast temperature variations, a task at which it has failed so far. 

In the meantime, subsequent discoveries continued to verify the existence of a worldwide flood and mirrored the hundreds of newly encountered myths and traditions attesting to the flood’s actuality. The very drifts that contained the bones of the woolly mammoths that gave rise to the idea of the ice age contained, along with the remains of exotic animals, insects and birds that had never lived in the same location and vegetation that could never have been local to where the drifts were found.  There was no way to explain this admixture of life by glacial movements.

It was as if all the creatures, all the trees, all the vegetation of the earth had been caught up in flowing whirlpools, mixed together, and then deposited wherever the water settled.  In addition to the drifts at the northwest bases of mountain chains, these jumbles of diverse life-forms were also found in drifts that filled isolated valleys and made up entire islands in the Arctic  whose boneyards contained not only the remains of animals from warmer climes, but also uncountable tree trunks extirpated with their roots intact – trees that could have grown only below the Arctic tree line.

Science did not rush to proclaim the existence of a warm age!

Instead, as soon as the ice age became a scientific fact, the fossil remains of life that had been found in the drifts, including the woolly mammoth that gave rise to the myth of the ice age, disappeared from scientific discourse and the newly named moraines became a simple admixture of sand and rock.  When the same admixture of bones and plant life was found stuffed deep in caves, a process that could have occurred only if it had been carried into the small cracks and crevices by the recession of massive floodwaters, the caves were deemed an anomaly that explained nothing and the evidence was allowed to be mined into nonexistence.”
